Daily (1–2 minutes)
Rinse away food and liquids. Use warm water and a small amount of mild washing-up liquid on a soft cloth or microfibre. Rinse, then dry to prevent limescale.
Wipe tea/coffee splashes before they settle. Drying after each use keeps the glaze clearer in hard-water areas.
Weekly clean
Wash with warm soapy water, then tackle limescale with a vinegar solution: 1:1 water and white vinegar on a cloth. Leave a few minutes, rinse thoroughly, and dry. Don’t leave vinegar sitting on the surface.
For stubborn dirt, apply a non-abrasive cream/gel cleaner. Let it work briefly, rinse, and dry.
Monthly deep clean (or as needed)
For ingrained stains, soak the bowl overnight with warm water plus a little biological washing powder. Rinse well in the morning.
Remove pan “metal marks” with a ceramic cleaning rubber/eraser and washing-up liquid. Rinse and dry.
Prevent chips and scratches
Use a bottom grid or silicone mat to cushion pots and trays. Avoid dropping heavy items. Don’t cut directly on the sink.
Skip plastic washing-up bowls that can trap grit and scuff the glaze.
Heat and temperature changes
Ceramic/fireclay is heat-resistant, but avoid thermal shock. Run warm water while you drain boiling liquid, especially if the sink is cold. Don’t place red-hot items straight onto the surface.
What not to use (protect the glaze)
No scouring pads, steel wool, or abrasive powders. They scratch the surface.
Avoid harsh chemicals and strong drain cleaners. Don’t soak with bleach; if contact happens, rinse away promptly with plenty of water.
Hard-water tips
Dry the sink after use to limit water spots and limescale.
For regular limescale control, wipe with a vinegar-based cleaner, rinse, and dry.
Small repairs
Minor chips/blemishes: Use a ceramic touch-up stick or repair kit designed for sinks. Larger damage may need professional repair or replacement.
If you are eco-minded and looking for an environmentally friendly sink then, ceramic is probably not the best option for you. Although ceramic sinks can last for a lifetime and be downcycled by being ground back to a powder and used in other ceramic products. The processes used to make them require a lot of energy and as the raw materials are mined, ceramic is less sustainable than some other sink types.
Each ceramic sink is different to the next due to the hand-finished traditional process that is used to make them. This means the model can vary slightly in its dimensions, shape, and form. Whilst this means each is unique if you have an existing cutout or are replacing an existing sink it’s something to be aware of.
The sink comes with a range of waste options. We have gold, bronze, antique copper, and brushed copper. These can be swapped out at any point which makes it extremely versatile!
Fully reversible, the Astini Canterbury 1.0 Bowl White Ceramic Kitchen Sink can be installed with the drainer on either the left- or right-hand side. With the option to fit a waste disposal unit, you can enjoy modern convenience without sacrificing style or practicality. The partially completed tap hole gives you flexibility to fit standard pillar taps, while also complementing more traditional wall- or deck-mounted bridge taps.
Much like the RAK Rustic Ceramic Sink, the Astini Canterbury Ceramic Kitchen Sink also comes with a 15-year guarantee. The warranty covers manufacturing defects, offering long-term reassurance and excellent value.
